Preparing for an Inquiry SessionIf you are interested in having a session you can make the best use of our time on the phone by taking these steps in preparation. Step 1If you are not already familiar with The Work, read this brief introduction. It is taken from a little book which is an excerpt from Loving What Is by Byron Katie. If you have already read the book or this excerpt you have heard this before. Even so, you might want to re-read this just to re-presence yourself to these ideas. Step 2Next, fill out a worksheet answering the six questions. You may download a worksheet here. How to Write on the WorksheetThis is not the time to "look good" or pretend to be more enlightened than you are. I invite you to be judgmental, harsh, childish, and petty. Write with the spontaneity of a child who is sad, angry, confused, or frightened. Don't try to be wise, spiritual, or kind. This is the time to be totally honest and uncensored about how you feel. Allow your feelings to express themselves, without any fear of consequences or any threat of punishment. First you'll put your thoughts on paper. Simply pick a person or situation and write, using short, simple sentences. Remember to point the finger of blame or judgment outward. You may write from your present position or from your point of view as a five-year-old or twenty-five-year-old. Please do not write about yourself yet. When you have completed your worksheet, you are ready for our session. It is helpful if you email or fax (480) 422-0046 me your worksheet so that I may view it as we work. If this is inconvenient don't trouble yourself over it. Please indicate a time you would like to speak. I will make every effort to talk with you as soon as possible. --Frank |
